

Amira Assad
Amira Assad is a Master's level clinical and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has been with Ability Counseling since 2015. She specializes in the areas of developmental and intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, problematic sexual behaviors, history of sexual abuse, victimization, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders.
She received a Master’s in Clinical Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 2008 and a Master’s in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 2012 and is a Full Operating Level Treatment Provider with an Intellectual/Developmental Disability Specialty with the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB). She provides consultation for direct support persons providing residential services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Her education, experience and training have shaped how she approaches the therapeutic needs of her clients. She understands each client comes into therapy with their lived experiences that have shaped how they perceive the world. She strongly believes it is important to meet each client where they are and give them the support they need to thrive.
